Denise Veelo is principal investigator anesthesiology and intensive care departments at Amsterdam UMC. She works as an anesthesiologist at the Amsterdam UMC, location AMC, Amsterdam. Together with Alexander Vlaar, she leads the DYNAMO research group which has a translational research line on hemodynamic management in the peri-operative patient and critically ill. Furthermore their research group has also a strong AI section focusing on waveform analysis, which was able to provide one of the first validations of an artificial intelligence algorithm for clinical use, the impact on intraoperative hypotension prediction and clinical decision-making, which was published in JAMA 2020.
